That’s Elon Musk, the chief executive of Tesla and the world’s richest person, talking to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, at an AI summit in London that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris attended.
Musk has been outspoken about the risks from AI, even as Tesla
TSLA,
is at the forefront of one of its applications, self driving.
So far, there’s been no sign in the economic data that AI is displacing jobs, ahead of Friday’s payrolls report, which is likely to show the unemployment rate at a historically low level below 4%. Economists say that technological advances typically don’t displace jobs but lead to higher-skilled positions.
